Not having a car definitely has it's disadvantages.
It's the 4th, I live in "America's Hometown", so festivities are happening close by, but not close enough to walk to!
The festivities aren't all that appealing to me, but my 9 year old is bored to tears, and here we are, stuck in our house in the woods, with nothing to do.
Bah.
edit:
Why must I be so painfully shy sometimes?
Anyway, Liam and I did get to see fireworks last night. At the end of our dirt path is a large pond with a beach and some houses... There was a pretty rockin 4th of July shindig going on down there... Liam jumped right in and made some friends, but I felt insanely out of place, like a party crasher... So I just kinda kept to myself and had an eye on Liam. I said hi to a couple of the adults there, but no one really invited me to hang out, so I just kept an eye on Liam and watched the fireworks until about 10:30. Well, we did something, at least. Even kept it kinda traditional. It would have been more fun if I could have grown a pair and talked to more people, but I just didn't feel like I could. Awkward.
